Network security with the AWS cloud

Networking Security, is a security solution developed by Compucloud following AWS best practices, this solution emerges as a proposal to the problems that currently arise. The main objective is to have better workload protection, given that in recent months, the use of computer systems, especially when working from home, requires a higher level of protection and greater control of network traffic flows.

Mainly, the solution allows both a continuous analysis of network flows, accounts and activities, as well as a continuous monitoring of HTTP and HTTPS requests, however, these are not the only features it has, but it has integrations of AWS's own services that allow us to generate a more robust solution, providing greater protection against the 10 main security risks of OWASP as well as continuous learning in the face of emerging threats.

Why is network security necessary?

Because security must be the main point of concern in organizations and in addition to the new normality that is emerging, security is the most relevant topic, given that working from home affects a new adoption model that, although previously used, its massive implementation was smaller, which is why involving a security solution provides greater certainty that workloads are protected at the application level.

How does network security work in the AWS cloud?

The Networking solution offers a centralized panel that collects the metrics of usage patterns, access to resources and network flow to detect malicious activities, in turn it provides additional protection in requests made to the balancer, cloudfront or api gateway that is configured. Basically, the solution performs an analysis of requests made to any of the above-mentioned services, once it detects that it is a request without a degree of threat, it allows access to resources, in case On the contrary, it applies some of the rules that have been previously configured to carry out an action.

Scope of security services

The services allow you to analyze the flow of the vpc, load balancers, CDN and APIs, in addition to offering rule protection, including database protection, application protection in PHP and WordPress, as well as IP blocking through reputation lists, among other features.

In addition to what has been mentioned above, the solution has the integration of some security panels that mainly allow monitoring the results of network flow analysis, detecting requests made, detection of malicious activities, as well as unauthorized behavior.
