Software Arex

Scalability and high availability to improve the use of your ERP in the AWS cloud.

Company dedicated to the development of transactional solutions for the cloud, focused on payroll, human resources, ERP, and others.

History

AREXti began in 2000 offering transactional systems in the cloud, focused on payroll, human resources, ERP, electronic invoicing, school control, among others; at the same time they carry out specific developments for their clients.

As it grew, it began to reengineer existing systems so that they can operate in the cloud.

Problem

ARexti had been in the cloud since the beginning, but they rented a rack in a data center, offering availability to their equipment with which they offered the service to customers. Which, as time went by and the growth of their infrastructure, required greater investment in maintenance and new equipment.

They needed to be hosted in a cloud that would provide security and peace of mind to their customers.

Solution

The growth, maintenance, operation and costs that were generating their infrastructure led them to look for a public cloud that would meet the operational and high security requirements, so they chose AWS because it was a leader in services and solutions as well as being able to count on consulting and specialized support from the Compucloud team. The most important action was the migration of their services using EC2, instances dedicated to keeping in operation both the production environments with which they provide the service to customers, as well as their development, maintenance and test environments.

Compucloud also carried out an analysis of AREXti's needs to design and establish a work plan that would further facilitate the migration and deployment of servers in the virtual environment, a work plan based on the 5 pillars of Well Architected:

-Operational Excellence: System Execution and Monitoring

-Security: Information protection, internal access control, processes and monitoring, highly secure architectures, access control and management

-Reliability: Avoid errors and Retrieve information

-Performance Efficiency: Effective Use of IT Resources

-Cost Optimization: Best Practices and Pay-per-Use

Thanks to this implementation, your resources that were previously dedicated to servicing your infrastructure now collaborate on the core of the business.

Results

Thanks to this implementation, ARexti says that they managed to obtain a 75% reduction in the total cost of ownership of maintaining their own equipment, just as they were able to reassign their staff dedicated to infrastructure, who are now focusing on their core business, which is developing systems for customers.
